the Christmas trees in the Daybreak and This Morning studios have some subtle Text Santa branding on them.

They prerecorded the opening sequence last night - think along the lines of that episode of Saturday Night Takeaway where they ended up in the pub over the road, only ending up in the studio and with Robbie Williams dressed as Santa driving a sleigh pulled by girls in skimpy reindeer costumes.

Plus this will be used for a Challenge Ant & Dec:

"standard charges may apply". No, standard charges WILL apply. That is what makes them standard.

Talking of pointless disclaimers, why say that you have to be over 16 to donate by text. Firstly they can't police it, and secondly since when have kids been banned from donating to charity?

Good opening there, much better than "here's One Direction" which is basically what you get with Children in Need.

It's basically just a Christmas Takeaway now

Not if 0300 numbers are included in your price plan.

It makes no difference. If 0300 numbers are free for you to call then the Text Santa 0300 number will also be free for you to call. There is no deviation from the standard.

I'm sure they're sticking to the small print rules exactly.

Really slick and entertaining show tonight. Far better than either of the BBC's charity offerings this year.
