01 811 8055 and 01 811 1066 were both popular numbers in the past. (Not sure but 1066 may have been Lime Grove, with 8055 being TV Centrre?)
This was in the days before computer phone switching etc. which meant that the number you dialled actually meant something - these days with international call centres, Voice over IP etc. the number you dial is pretty irrelevant to where you are actually dialling.
ISTR that when the 01 region became 0171 and 0181 the BBC TV Centre number became 0181 811 8181 (as made famous by Live and Kicking) - and that after that 0845, 0870 amd 0990 numbers became the norm.
