I'm sure Ted Robbins hosted vhain letters when it came back in the 90's at 9.25.

It was interesting seeing the fault, i was flipping and noticed russell grant, as i immediately said, they've had a breakdown. They had one near to the beginning of the run.

Its a shame the figures are so low, as the show is now on form. Replacing Johnny Ball with Danny Baker was a great decision (nothing against johnny ball), getting rid of danny mccall and that live loot idea. They've even started little regular spots with spots on tv & film, then cookery items, and the barefoot doctor. And you always learn something new from Danny's questions.

I loved it today when Terry shouted to Danny, "You make up all the questions, dont you", in which he replied "Yeah, what do you we have? Viewers!?".

Please if anyone knows anyone who is one of the BARB people, can they please get them to watch this show, they may even enjoy it!

BTW. How do people become a representitive of the public with BARB (i.e. to have the box that records the shows that they watch that they translate into a certain number of viewers?)

How many people do they have recording this? And shouldn't they have more to gain a better representative. At the moment, just because people who have the boxes aren't watching, channels and programmes get axed, even though they may have millions of viewers.

And does anyone know what Terry & Gaby are doing on friday? WIll they do the live five show as well as children in need?

It is a shame that such a good show gets such a low amount of figures, it really does deserve more, as they do put a lot of effort into it. You can see that the show has changed since it came on in May, ie getting rid of McCall, Johnny Ball, the original set and the titles too. Plus Danny Baker has been an excellent replacement for Ball, as he does have a very good sense of humour, and does like to take the p*ss out of ITV at times, though we have had mentions of The 6 O'Clock Show from time to time. You can tell that Wogan has settled down and you can tell that Gaby isn't as loud as she was. I have to say that the other week that Richard Whiteley was a very good replacement while Terry was on his break, if Terry goes off again, then I wouldn't mind Whiteley coming back. Though considering it gets low ratings they seem to get some good guests and they've managed to get sponorship too, but only by National Lottery Daily Play, but I guess that means something.

But I think Five commissioned about 200 episodes and we're currently at about 120 or so, so we might have it until early next year, but we have to see how long they have off over Christmas. But I do hope that Five recommissions this superb show, but this time not for 200 episodes, maybe 50 or something would be more suitable.

The only thing about the titles they have changed is the colours at the end. The actual titles are still the same. Though I think I prefered the true blue and pink ones to the bluey-green and pinky-red of today.

The set has changed in colour and a few things added, though I'm still not sure about the bright yellow on the sofas.

It should get more viewers. And it most probably would've if itv had had the usual summer type line up of films and dramas instead of this morning and loose women.

I wonder why they added the terry&gaby@five.tv graphic today. It only came on after they came back from the breakdown.

It would be nice to see some new games, perhaps something simple like the brekkie's 'ooh, what a lovely pair' or this mornings (shame they dont do this anymore) 'pick a pair', which are basically the same game. Yet they are simple. Though even simpler would be something like disney channel's old old game 'What is Behind My Velvet Curtain', its just a guessing game, as supposed to kids in headphones.

The guests always seem to be good, and up for anything.

Richard Whiteley was good, but I think Jimmy Tarbuck has got to be the best guest host, I sometimes thought he was better than Terry. And Jenny Powell as best female guest, she too sometimes appeared better than Gaby.

I hope we get Christmas titles. He did it with Live with Chris Moyles last year. Which I think was a damm fine show, much better than when they tried to do it with Christian O Connell. (The problem with Moyles is it was aimed at lads, yet put in the 7pm slot, it should have been put when people were getting back from the pub, perhaps more may have watched!).

I just hope that someone can give this show extra figures through having a BARB box, flipping, finding Terry & Gaby, and liked it.

Does anyone know how you become one of the BARB viewing panel?

ISTR him doing a show called "Caught In The Act". I think it was a gameshow based on home video bloopers, but the memory of it is a bit vague.

Just to clear things up that according to all the listings in the papers/Digiguide T&G WILL be hosting CIN and NOT Shane Richie. Shane Richie will be opening the show performing this year's CIN single - a cover version of George Michael's "I'm Your Man" - should be interesting!

Rather interestingly, on today's T&G show, they said that Gaby would still be on tomorrow but Terry will be off rehearsing for CIN. Don't know why Gaby isn't off rehearsing but that's what they said - presumably Gaby has a bit more spare time than the TOGster, so she's already rehearsed?

BTW, Terry's replacement will be.... DONNY OSMOND!

I think it's time I hurried up with that archive forum - I don't think a thread dead for nearly a month is suitable for further posting, James!

I don't know - I remembered there was an existing thread so I looked for it.

Seemed a logical place to post in the light of the discussions earlier in the thread.

I agree it is a great show. It has severely changed since when it started, and for the better. Danny Baker makes the show fun to watch and enjoy. Terry & Gaby are quite a good partnership actually, I didn't think that they could handle it for 5 days a week, compared with once a year, but they are great.
I never get why five or any channel in fact go on about axing shows, when surely one of the most effective ways to get more viewers is to advertsise the strong points of the show during big audience grabbers. I have only seen Terry & Gaby advertised at the start of their run, and that was with a rubbish trailer of them drinking tea, and stuff. What they need to do is have a daily highlights trailer that they can run every now and again, what Channel 4 did with the Big Breakfast during the Johnny & Denise era, where they said, here's what you missed this morning and ran a sped up version of the show. For those that haven't watched Terry & Gaby before, they won't know what it is.

Also at the end of this morning's 'the Wright Stuff', Mathew said a big thankyou to every one at MTV who had lent them their studios for the past few years. So I take it that they will be broadcasting from somewhere else from January 12th, perhpas somewhere that can fit a bigger audience in.
