I'm sure Ted Robbins hosted vhain letters when it came back in the 90's at 9.25.

It was interesting seeing the fault, i was flipping and noticed russell grant, as i immediately said, they've had a breakdown. They had one near to the beginning of the run.

Its a shame the figures are so low, as the show is now on form. Replacing Johnny Ball with Danny Baker was a great decision (nothing against johnny ball), getting rid of danny mccall and that live loot idea. They've even started little regular spots with spots on tv & film, then cookery items, and the barefoot doctor. And you always learn something new from Danny's questions.

I loved it today when Terry shouted to Danny, "You make up all the questions, dont you", in which he replied "Yeah, what do you we have? Viewers!?".

Please if anyone knows anyone who is one of the BARB people, can they please get them to watch this show, they may even enjoy it!

BTW. How do people become a representitive of the public with BARB (i.e. to have the box that records the shows that they watch that they translate into a certain number of viewers?)

How many people do they have recording this? And shouldn't they have more to gain a better representative. At the moment, just because people who have the boxes aren't watching, channels and programmes get axed, even though they may have millions of viewers.

And does anyone know what Terry & Gaby are doing on friday? WIll they do the live five show as well as children in need?

just gone off air and been replaced with a russel grant postacard thing while they fix the problem

Didn't Five have something a little more palatable than Russell Grant with which to replace Terry and Gaby?

I think its the only short programme that they have, that and the kids shows like mr men & little miss.

I never get why channels dont use the technical faults to their advances, such as showing trailers. Until they can get them back.

GMTV had trouble yesturday with Sound and Steve Irwin. They went to a break, came back saw a bit of the DVD, tried to talk to him, he couldn't here them, so they went to another break two minutes after the previous.

Wasn't there a break down on another made by Chris Evans Show, the one that use to be on at 7pm. When that show broke down, they also opted for Russell Grant.

Russell Grant is Five's standard filler programme. It's always there just in case a programme grinds to a halt, and up pops that chirpy camp man by way of compensation. It's short, cheap and cheerful and always there in case of a fault.

Shane Richie is going to be the main presenter for Children in Need this year...

Really? According to Terry & Gaby, they're presenting CiN this Friday, as usual.

Is he really? No Terry Wogan? Who's presenting with him?

Perhaps they should do stints like they do with comic relief and bring out the people. And have different bits. For example, they could still have friday night with Jonathon Ross as part of children in need.

The success or comic relief is the merchandise (which CIN are getting on top of with pin badges now additional to the toys and mugs). And the fact that they get people to bid to see things on tv.

Yeah, I was surprised when I read it too (on the BBC's intranet). Perhaps Terry and Gabby are only gonna do some of it (assuming they've had little time to rehurse) and Shane's gonna do the rest?

The RT agrees too Razz Shane is doing the official single this year however, dunno he is a good presenter so maybe it's going to be a bit of a threesome this year.

Because chucking a short programme in and getting it to air takes a lot less effort than playing loads of trails. The filler programme can be put on and played while the director and team concentrates on getting the main programme back again.

Often the filler programme will be loaded and readied before live programmes start
