On the question of the Harry Potter film rumoured to be going out BBC One this Christmas. Sky Premier 1 has it in it's schedule for Christmas Day at 6pm.

Isn't this fairly unprecedented, a Sky subscription channel and the BBC showing the same film on the same day ? I presume that with Sky listing there showing at 6pm, the likelihood is the BBC will show it straight after the Queen to avoid a clash.

I think people have got a bit confused. The Harry Potter film is not on BBC One this year. I think it will be on 2005 actually, though I'm not sure about that one.

I'm almost certain you're wrong- the BBC paid extra for an earlier showing of the film than they normally would get.

Well maybe I am - Or maybe I'm not. The big film this year on BBC1 is Meet The Parents. Certain now?

Hello,

Talking of past schedules - the BBC used to have an archive of them on their site - but I can't find them. Where are they now?!

Well, I've never seen them, and TV and Radio bits is the only site I've found with any old schedules on. I'd like to see more sites with old schedules on.

It was me who brought them to the attention of TVF - you had to edit the URL with the date, and channel name.

Unfortunately they're not on there anymore.

It seems we have a confirmation on World Idol then.

Don't the TV Room website have a few old schedules on their Plus section?

OK, just looking through my copy of The Sun's provisional Xmas TV Guide and here are some of the main highlights for Christmas Day - If you don't want to know - look away now! (highlight below to view them!):

BBC1:

11:30am Morecambe & Wise
12:40pm Film: The Tigger Movie
2:50pm Top Of The Pops
4:25pm Film: Stuart Little
6:00 Eastenders
7:10 Christmas Night With The Stars (Parky!)
8:30 Eastenders
9:10 Only Fools & Horses: Last Ever episode
11:00 Film: The Thomas Crown Affair
12:50am Film: Airplane II: The Sequel

BBC2:

11:00am Around The World in 80 Days (Michael Palin)
1:05pm Film: Sherlock Holmes
4:15pm: Die Fladermaus

ITV1:

11:00 My Favourite Hymns Christmas Special
11:30 Film: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe
5:30 Senora Beckham (about Victoria, obviously!)
6:30 Emmerdale
7:30 Corrie
8:30 World Idol
10:00 Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

CH4:

9am-12pm: T4 (Friends/Westlife Concert)
12:20pm Film: Oliver!
3:15 Jim Hensons Jack & The Beanstalk: The Real Story
8:00 Film: Amelie
10:20 100 Worst Britains
11:50 Jackass Christmas Special

Five:

6am-12pm: Milkshake
2:35pm Dambusters: Revealed
6:15 Home and Away
6:45 Family Affairs
7:05 The Christmas Truce
8:20 Christmas... Ruined My Life
9:20 Film: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
11:15 Film: A Man Called Horse

So on the two most watched terrestrial channels (BBC1 & ITV1) it doesn't look too bad... But in my opinion Five is probably worth a miss this Xmas Day... And of course there are more soaps than you can wash yourself with (can't they give these a rest at least one day a year for God's sake?)

Note that the programmes above aren't my particular favourites, I've just tried to pick out something for all the family, and I've included all the films that have been announced as being shown on Chistmas Day.

Of course, these listings are subject to change in the next couple of weeks.

Interesting -
(TAN)TOTP christmas special according to The Sun starts at 2.50pm...

And what is the usualy unmovable speech that ALWAYS starts 10mins later at 3pm?
