Back to the BBC scheduling of Breakfast for a moment. Perhaps this is an attempt by the BBC to acknowledge that in today's multi-cultural society, not everyone celebrates Christmas.

I expect in a few years time, we may have a "Press Red" for Christmas programming channel, whilst BBC One continues with usual programming in an attempt to be politically correct and recognise that not all cultures celebrate Christmas.

Maybe this is the first move towards that.

Don't you think I'd be more like "Press Red for alternative programming". Christmas is a BIG ratings winner, so the last thing they want to do is to complicate things. Anyway - I can't see non-Christians maning about the acutal programmes, apart from the title they don't have TOO much christmas reference in them - Most of the films don't even have a reference to Christmas at all.

I know CiTV are on at 4:25am but aren't they on at 9:25 am again on Xmas Day??

They have always been on at 9:25am (WELL, FOR AGES!) until 11:30 or something.
I think it is unfair, I don't want to see a movie, I would like to see programmes they usually have an over the Xmas period, like Rats Tales, Sabrina, Garfield etc.
Or repeat last years EXCELLANT animation 'The Kings Beard'.

I think yet again the BBC are resorting to yet more cheap scheduling over Christmas with their Breakfast schedule.
I remember not too long ago that Christmas was meant to offer something completely different in the daily schedules, but if this Breakfast schedule has anything to go by, it may as well be a normal run of the mill morning schedule.
The BBC need to re-think their ideas for the holiday schedules in future, because this Breakfast schedule is pointless; a waste of 3 hours where they could show something much more festive I'm sure. Even an early morning Disney film season would have been better and at least that would have offered something different for the viewers.

I don't see what's wrong with having Breakfast on Christmas morning - all the other channels will be showing kids programmes, so this actually DOES give viewers more choice. I for one would rather see the news than rubbishy cartoons or stupid movies in the morning. Not that I'll be awake before 9 anyway!

And I'm sure they will make it as festive as possible - last year's was cool, with Bill and Sarah Wilmshurst and that hat!

Nothing has changed with the scheduling of Breakfast on Christmas Day. Last Year between 6am and 9amish was Cbeebies on One. This Year between 6am and 9amish is Cbeebies On Two. Breakfast and Children's Programmes have switched channels that's all. Anyway, won't anyone be opening presents early this year accompanied by festive music? Telly in my house don't go on til at least 11am and by then I couldn't have cared less about what was on before. There is more to life than worrying about News Programmes on Christmas Day, for instance worrying about the fact that the BBC1 tight arses are using the same ident this year that they used last year. That is terrible!

No last year it was CBeebies at 6am and CBBC from 7am to 10.15am. This year older kids arn't being catered for until 'Talking Movies' or some other dross finishes at 9am. It's bizzare, I'd have liked to have been a fly on the wall at that scheduling meeting

That's not true at all - it says nothing whatsoever about CBeebies on BBC2 (at the BBC Press Office), it is listed as CBBC from 6:00 - 9:00, then it moves to BBC1. It is no different to last year (as a previous poster pointed out), except that the channels have switched over.

As I've said before it looks like Weekend 24 is being got rid of, at least over the Christmas period, in favour of having Breakfast on BBC1 on Saturday mornings as well. This would mean that kids programmes would be on BBC2 rather than BBC1 every morning, Monday - Sunday.

If this is the case, then it seems logical to put CBBC on BBC2, as the kids will know that that is always the place to find it.

Anyhow, what does it matter what channel the kids programmes are on? All UK homes can receive BBC1 and 2, so people can take their choice.

Back to TV listing guides they are all out today and if you don't see it on the shelf the should have it in the back...

Radio Times and TV Quick got sent in on Saturday. Anyway the best TV guide for Digital is The Total TV Guide and it's normally 85p, but only £1 for the double issue.

Well I asked in Tesco and they said they havent had the Christmas issues delivered yet (the 13-19 issue is currently on the shelves!!) I also asked in my local newsagents and they said they had some issues in the stock room but that was the 13-19th issues as they still have just the 6th-12th issues on the shelves. Knowing them when it does come in they will keep it in the stock room until the normal release date which is the Tuesday before it starts.

they're all in the shops here... nice lot of Jennifer Saunders over Christmas, which is good. Overall from skimming through the mag I bought the TV looks quite good. Plenty of stuff to dip into when you're not doing the many other things that Christmas entails...

A bit boring really with Darren Jordan and Fiona Bruce appearing quite often. Last year we had odd days with Matthew Amroliwala or Maxine Mawhinney etc
