Showing Breakfast for 3 hours on Christmas day on BBC1 really is a bizzare decision. I wouldn't have thought that the BBC1 controller would want such a programme on her channel.

Breakfast on Christmas Day will no doubt be something like Bill Turnbull reading a short news update and then linking into News 24 filler programmes, news reviews and other boring unchristmassy stuff.

Also kids will have to switch over from CBBC2 to CBBC1 at 9am!

If it's anything like last year Bill will be anything but unchristmassy - I'm sure, if he ends up presenting the programme again, that he will bring a quite adequate amount of Christmas cheer. I'll grant you that it does seem difficult to fill a 3-hour Christmas news programme though - no live OBs, not a lot of news....

It looks to me like the BBC are trying to introduce total continuity. Breakfast will be on BBC1 EVERY morning, while kids programmes will be on BBC2.

I think Andrew is saying that he'll introduce unchristmassy stuff like Clink Online for example. Anyway, it shouldn't get many viewers either way.

Just had a look at them and 2 things..

1- There is a MASSIVE (nee embarrasing) error somewhere in the BBC ONE schedule. Just for fun, who'll be first to spot it Very Happy

I think Top of the Pops is missing from the listings, Digiguide has BBC News from 13:50 - 15:00. That ought to keep the most ardent of BBC News fans happy Laughing

Sorry Sqaure Eyes - it's not that. Totp is there, at 2pm.
A clue - the mistake is not in any listings before Boxing Day... Wink

Yes all the bumper double issues were available today at least in my local high street newsagent.

Disappointingly though it looks like the Radio Times went to press before ITV News had confirmed who's presenting, so there's no presenters listed for the full fortnight for ITV News

Interesting to note that from about the 23rd, ITV has decided to do CITV programmes from about 4:30am! When all the kids should be asleep waiting for Santa!

BTW, just seen a trailer on BBC1 for Christmas comedy. Not very Christmassy, and i'm not too sure about those 2D animations either...

They've always put out cartoons in this slot in previous years. I think you'll be surprised how many kids are up at that time over Christmas.

Although I think its a first for those cartoons to be CITV favourites. Normally its stuff like 'Men in Black' as opposed to 'Engie Benjy'

Christmas Radio Times is now available (in London at least). Good news: overnight closedowns on BBC2 EVERY NIGHT! Bad news: ITV Nightscreen timeslots filled by CITV during Christmas week. Parents will not be amused!
