I think this almost links with the other strand about Laurel and Hardy on BBC Two.
Although sassenachs take note, it's not a Scottish bank holiday
, it would still be great to see the BBC and ITV dropping their stayed and boring daytime schedules to introduce some films, some alternative children's programming, and something different. I long for Disney Time at 520pm - and I'm 34

I though that it was bank holiday this weekend with the amount of films on offer. ITV2 alone from Sunday afternoon had Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, X Factor repeat, Sister Act & Miss Congeniality 2.
Even though ITV only aired it once (to my knowledge) the All Star Golf Tournament hosted by Ant & Dec (just produced by them when it aired on sky) airing through the day gave the schedule a bit of a difference.

Not according to itv.com tv guide - and BBC Scotland don't look to be differing from the main BBC Schedule either
I'm sure STV will be willing to opt out of the network Bank Holiday schedule to show normal length regional news programmes etc on Bank Holiday Monday....?

I know it's been gone completely for a couple of years now, but quite a while since they stopped doing Bank Holiday Grandstand, which of course helped make it feel more like the weekend than the week. There is athletics on BBC2 next Monday though.
Really though if you look at the weekend schedules it's not just bank holidays which are losing their identity - the weekday daytime staples are increasingly turning up at the weekend too.
