Tennant is the best

From the BBC Entertainment website, and says he got 28% of voters. Ecclesfield and Tennant are in the top 3, even though they have only done one series each.....

Any poll like this always favours the most recent entries.

It's like when radio stations do their 'Top 100 songs of all time' polls - there's always a disproportionate number of current artists included.

I'd hazard a guess that a large proportion of those who voted are too young to remember William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, and they probably only know Tom Baker as the voice of Little Britain.

That said, Tennant is quite good, and more suited to the role than Ecclestone was IMO.

Not disputing how well I think Tennant has done as the doctor but this poll has probably been done by people who like you say, don't remember the doctors from years gone by. Both Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were very popular. My fave was Peter Davison.

I like him as well, davison ( he song buttom moon aswell)

also I don;t think a lot of people liked the colin baker becasue of his bad tempted doc,

I thought it was more the declining production values and shoddy scripts, the low point for me being when the Doctor disappeared in the TARDIS, averted an impending crisis off-screen, then promised to tell Peri how he did it some other time.

Colin Baker/The Sixth Doctor have redeemed themselves in the Big Finish productions, though (IMO).

Never watched Doctor Who before the new series so id have voted Tennant as well.

Hate these PR polls they publish constantly

I didnt vote, im just saying who I would have voted for.

Ive seen Tennant and Eccleston (or whatever his name was) and I didnt like him that much.

Baker is by far the best Doctor. I've been brushing up on some of his episodes on DVD. A fantastic actor. Mr Tennant comes up the rear - Behave! - at number two followed by Peter Davidson.
