I've just read Asa's latest warning (with much amusment) about not refering to BBC Studio names. Asa has obviously been ordered to give us this notice by the self-important so-and-so's at the Beeb, which in my veiw is nothing but tempting fate.

Is the BBC expecting to be bombed again? and if they were, wouldn't they not want draw attention to themselves.

Every day that passes, I dislike the BBC more and more, and what they stand for. The sooner this old-fashioned, middle England corporation is dragged out of its stale, dark age cave - the better.

The ITV network are trouncing them in all aspects of TV, and what is more worrying is that ITV survives on a tiny budget compared to the the BBC's billions they get each year.

There was a time when the corporation was respected, but now it is continuing to slip into the abyss of broadcasting has-beens.

Glad you found the message so amusing. For anyone who does work for or at the BBC, I am sure that their concerns for safety should be taken seriously. None of us need to look too far into the past to see that they have been the subject of attack before.

With the current escalation of tension on an international scale then I am not surprised that some at the BBC feel this way.

I think you stand firmly alone in your view of the organisation, respected around the world for their on-going mission to inform and educate. I fail to see where ITV, with their trough of low-brow lowest common-denominator programming, are 'trouncing' the BBC in any respect. Even those inside the industry can see that its like comparing apples and oranges. Perhaps 'Popstars' and 'Soapstars' appeals to you, where David Attenborough does not. ITV does not run on a pittance. They have commercial revenues, product placement and sponsorship to keep their programmes afloat. The BBC at least are required to audit and make available their budgets to the licence payer.

In this country, if you have a TV, you need a licence fee. Once you are old enough to pay for one, perhaps you would be happier relocating abroad, then none of us would have to hear your thoughts on the subject.
