What I mean, is the fact that nowadays, you don't get thinks like the Eric and Ernie Christmas Show, and nearly every comedy now swears in it (like i'm bothered) and ITV can't create a show without Celebrity in the title. They just aren't the same!

Despite what you may think, Big Brother is good television. It regularly draws in high ratings for Channel 4 and has been going for 6 years now .[/quote
Big Brother 1 was good Television, Ground Breaking, Fresh but all the shows since have just like been trying to flog a dead horse.

Hardly indicators of good television.
If they showed hardcore porn on Channel 4 at 9pm (and some of BB isn't far short) that'd draw in high ratings and, if no-one stopped it, would no doubt continue for longer than 6 years!
Big Brother was interesting in the first series (though they should have just picked people at random to give a true reflection of society rather than populating it with minority groups) as a social experiment. Now it's just car crash TV.
On the other hand there is just as much excellent TV on now as there ever has been, it's just that we remember good programmes from years ago and forget all the dross.
This year is the only time I have really been into Big Brother. I think just BB would be enough reality, funny, nerveracking and full of action. (in any form)
Yes Doctor Who is 40 years old now, but todays writers have given it something that it definitely didn't have in it's later years, and perhaps not even in any years. In that way i'd say it was very new and unique.
It may be different now - but I wouldn't say it was unique. The core elements of the storyline have been retained - and the whole concept of the show has remained true to its origins.
The recent series has certainly added life, and brought new fans to the show, but I think it is quite a strained argument to claim it is NEW...

I don't like the fact that.. oh how can I say it?
You know the way in older american shows, when somebody moved, the person (or picture) became blurry, or they just didn't look right, and in BBC sitcoms in the 80s and 90s, it look like the quality filmed with a camcorder.
Doctor Who has the way they didn't look right, they all seem to have a slower motion. I know it's hard to explain

Well, it's not considered a new show by the BBC, merely a new series of the same show which has been around since 1963. The show wasn't cancelled in 1989, it was simply put on indefinate hiatus, which it has now returned from. Internally, the series which has just finished is Doctor Who series 27, not Doctor Who MK2 series 1.
I think Big Brother is appauling TV, it's just very addictive if you happen to sit down and watch it by accident. Even if you hate it, you can find yourself caught up in it. That's the only way it's become popular. 'Breathtaking' it is certainly not.
Future nostalgia could be ruined by people who constantly go on at us about how great Big Brother is, when we all know it's crap. Whereas, in the old days people used to put a programme on and wait to see how popular it was, it now seems that they trail a programme for ages and tell you that you are going to love it and it'll be your best friend. And they'll do the same thing when they look back at the TV of now in 15 years time, by telling us that we all loved the programme, even if we hated it. Hell, nostalgia programmes now hype things up more than they should.
The good TV today gets over-exposed and hyped once it becomes popular too. This ruins any enjoyment of the programmes you had. Little Britain is one of the best examples of this, along with The Office too.
Well if play.com say it they must be right! It is a 'new series', but it isnt the first series of a new version ie Mk2 Series 1, just a continuation of what was put on hold in 1989, hence it is series 27, but is still a 'new series' for the average shopper at play.com.
