I noticed there was an NTL Thread do i'd thought I'd make a Telewest thread. Very Happy Anyway, earlier I posted that Scottish TV are picking up ITV1 Border. Does anyone know if this has been fixed because I dinny have access to a TV at the mo. It was nice seeing ITV1 on Scottish. Smile

Also, is there any word on the return of the Nick channels to Telewest. I was reading on DS they are still in negotiations but does anyone know if they have agreed something with Viacom. This dropping of the channels was a very stupid idea because Nick have lost viewers and Telewest have lost customers and there have been a lot of disappointed children around the country thanks to this. I seem to remember this happening with other channels before. MTV comes to mind but don't quote me on that. Cool

Cheers.

1, Stop it with the smilies - very annoying.

2, NTL are not going to 'take over' Telewest. There have been merger rumours, but nothing definate.

3, Even if they do merge, there is no guarantee Nickelodeon will be back on Telewest customers' screens in the short term.

Try doing some research before your next post.

Going back a few years, when I first went 'multichannel' with Cable Midlands Analogue(10 years this October, when I took the plunge, & 5 years this August (I think), since I went digital cable for a year, then SKY, a year after that !), was Telewest a completely new company, or did it merge with various companies?

I remember practically overnight with the changeover, we got Paramount & the Family Channel added to the standard package.

Well, when our area first got cable tv around 91 Edinburgh was serviced by United Artists Communications who's servicewas top notch. then Telewest took over and the service has been getting worse every year.

I have some very fond memories of running home to watch The Childrens Channel. then the switchover to The family channel. oh they were great channels. and UA's service was as i said top notch.

fast forword to 2005 and telewest's service is piss poor. If it was possable, i'd switch to sky, but i cant because of some stupid conservation type rule. Evil or Very Mad Oh well, i still have my memories.

Of course, I remember UAC now. I was only very young when we had it back in 1991, but I remember watching TCC (The Children's Channel) on it and I seem to remember the logo very slightly for UAC on vans (I was a bit of a car geek when I was younger Laughing ).

Anyone else having problems with Sky News (602) on Telewest Digital? I'm getting a black screen and a 'This channel is temporarily unavailable' box popping up. Tried 'rebooting', but it's still the same.
