I shall make it my mission to dig Douglas out from the loft or wherever it is i've put him. I'm a terrible hoarder. I have shedloads of stuff in my attic. Anyhoo my Douglas i got over 10 years ago from some dairy Rep. It's a stuffed toy version he even had the trombone too, he used too sit on the parcel shelf of my car instead of a nodding dog.
You must get a pic of this The ones they were giving away with the butter were made of china (more than likely plastic), never knew there was a stuffed toy one
I'll throw some of my random tat, rather bizare and not of real historical significance, but here goes: some lip balm, 5 pokerchips and two books of matches all branded 'five'.
As for the AVAGO stuff, I was a regular viewer David you may remember KingKongBaldOne... AVAGO was great interactive television and build up a weird virtual friendship with many of the guys there so got sent loads of stuff in the mail. Got more lying around in the attic... I just haven't found it yet.
Wow. What a small world. I didn't realise you were KingKongBaldOne. I managed to think up the name, 'David from Brighton' and later 'Gane Fan'.
You are right, AVAGO was great. Very unique television. The main studio was fun but I enjoyed the 'Pod' more. Looking back, there is something odd about watching TV and knowing that the viewing figures are probably in double digits and you know half of them by name.
Nothing has come close to matching that, however 'interactive' and 'multi-platform' it is. It was also great TV to have on in the background too. No adverts, just two hours of chat with very little interuption.
It was very 'in' though. I sometimes wonder what new viewers made of it all. I remember when their mobile phone broke (taking text messages on a real mobile phone - ha ha how low tech) and I wrote a quick SMS text application in PHP and they used that instead. I don't think you can get much more interative than that.

For anyone interested I will get some more stuff together over the weekend... it's actually nice to see it all photographed and all in one place.
Yes, I have enjoyed this thread too. I have had all my Avago stuff stuck in a drawer so its nice to see it again. In fact, I was just reading about your Mother getting mistaken for a prostitute and getting chucked out of a supermarket in AVAGossip Issue 3 (Summer 2004). Bloody tabloids.
I had two /
B/B/C
/ mousemats from around 1995. Both old-style mousemats - one being blue synthetic material with logo in the corner and another black rubber type one with "BBC Visual Effects have moved" and a map on it.
Nobody's bothered about my up-market BBC non-tat then? Oh well
Yes yes, all very nice but its hardly Avago is it?
Now, has anyone got any Nation 277/Nation 217/Quiznation things they want to share? They produced a whole series of bookmarks at one point as well as a 'prize booklet'.
