Just for show for the cameras?

There's a clue in that her face hasn't been blurred out (which is automatic unless manually overridden)

I think N6 is missing because it was still operating when those images were taken.

Any reason why the lights on the grid in TC1 are bagged up?
Are they keeping them in situ until 2015/16 when the studio is brought back into use?

I thought the three remaining studios were being totally gutted/refurbished and getting all new kit when they return back to making programmes again?

Has anyone found Studio 9?

It doesn't seem to be there (at least not yet). Neither is the Blue Peter garden.

Excuse my stupidity everyone but what was the central communications area on the 3rd floor for? It looks like mission control! I thought all that was with Red Bee now and has been for some time? Again excuse my awful idiocy here.

I would have liked to have seen every studio and its accompanying gallery but am grateful for what we've got. As far as I'm aware from zooming around pretty much everywhere on the maps, the only galleries available are in News?

Where's the DG's office?

Where's the DG's office?

White City? Smile

Nice to see the innards of the building. Did they do the newsroom too, I can't seem to find that?

Looking in the apparatus rooms, i'm surprised at how old some of the tech in there was. And also spotted an RM computer, you know, like the type that you had at school in a beige box. Can't see how that would have ended up there. Confused

Check out the ceiling, you can see the track cam is still there.

Pictures on the wall in the N8 Gallery showing what I presume to be pitches from BDA Creative for the (then) future World News studio.

Tried to find N9 in relation to N8 but failing. Any help?

It has been a long time since I went to N9, but I remember it being no-where near N8 but down a corridor away from the open plan areas.

I've had a quick look around and I don't think it or N6 are on there. I think this is N6's gallery though:

There's a sign nearby pointing to N6, but it doesn't let you go down there.... you do end up in a Five Live studio though

Yes, that's the N6 gallery. The studio was located a little further along past the gallery, but it doesn't let you go down that far on street view sadly as you say (you can't even get outside the door).

N9 was a small distance away from N8 and once again, street view doesn't allow you to go down that far.

Shame i wanted to see N9 but good grief how on earth did anyone find anything in that place I got lost so many times in that doughnut Very Happy

The broom cupboard was part of the area stripped out in 1997/8 to become the DTA. I've looked, and streetcam didn't go up there, sorry.

CCA was the hub for studios and circuits in and out of TC. It didn't run the networks, but if you were making a programme in TC1 and had an insert from a studio or ob elsewhere it'd all get connected up in cca. Some shared kit also lived in cca. The same room was also home to SatOps and a major hub for the EBU.

Yes I think that's the case. TC1,2&3 are all relatively recently upgraded. It's probably easier in the short term to bag up the lamps keeping them in good nick.
