Remember how we all got excited earlier in the year when Google announced they were doing a Street View inside TVC?

it's now online.

Hilarious how I can still get lost in a building I know pretty well Smile

For the more technically minded, they also went into a couple of the apparatus rooms:

This is the type of technical infrastructure that keeps the BBC on air even now

The back of SCAR - tidier but less interesting

This bit of TVC hasn't really changed much at all since it opened. Between the studios there were originally three assembly areas for cast and crew to take breaks and meet before and during recordings. They were called Red, Blue and Green Assembly (there was also a White Assembly in the Spur). Originally all had tea bars but by the end only Green still had one (which under the name of Strollers often appeared on Like and Kicking as it was between TC6 and 7). Blue Assembly was for many years the only one where you could smoke, so it was generally a rather tatty place as it still appears to be...

Red assembly became the Top of the Pops Star Bar ...

Tried to find N9 in relation to N8 but failing. Any help?

Wonder why Sophie Raworth was sitting there. Just for show for the cameras?

It has been a long time since I went to N9, but I remember it being no-where near N8 but down a corridor away from the open plan areas.

I've had a quick look around and I don't think it or N6 are on there. I think this is N6's gallery though:

There's a sign nearby pointing to N6, but it doesn't let you go down there.... you do end up in a Five Live studio though

Judging by the images in the gallery, it looks as if many of these shots were taken when domestic operations were still at TVC, which is probably why we haven't got images of N6. Hopefully they might come online at some point.

That's Sophie Raworth isn't it? Why would she be in N8?

Yes, that's the N6 gallery. The studio was located a little further along past the gallery, but it doesn't let you go down that far on street view sadly as you say (you can't even get outside the door).

N9 was a small distance away from N8 and once again, street view doesn't allow you to go down that far.
