This summer, I'll be spending a week on holiday in the delightful Northumberland town of Berwick upon Tweed. I've visited the town on day trips before, but never had a holiday there. Question though to be asked.

In terms of television, I know since the digital switchover was launched, the North Northumberland part of the old Border Television region was switched to Tyne Tees. I also know the BBC North East and Cumbria serves Berwick. However, given how close the town is to the Scottish border, is it entirely possible on Freeview (which is what the caravans have at the holiday centre), to pick up tv signals as well for BBC Scotland, and Border TV, and perhaps even STV East?

I'm guessing that BBC1 NE&C will be on 1, and ITV Tyne Tees will be on 3. But, if the other BBC and ITV regions can be picked up, what numbers will they be on?

The other transmitter that leaks into the town , is Selkirk. If your TV has found it (and a good enough signal) during its scan you will find its channels from Ch 800 onwards (800+ is sort of standard for most TV s and boxes to place additional services if found)

If you want to initiate a manual scan on your TV, then you need the following UHF channel numbers

Selkirk BBC Scot Mux 50 ITV Border/4/5 Mux 59 HD 55

Berwick itself is 21, 24, 27

(Edited 27/2, to remove Eyemouth, which is now co-channel with Berwick)
