As Stand up to Cancer is essentially an import just wondering about telethons around the world.
US telethons seem to be more like sprints compared to ours, but shown across rival networks. The main networks don't seem to have any regular national telethons but seem to air ones related to recent events. The regular telethons seem to be more local affairs.
It's similar in Australia - a few established annual telethons, but done on a regional level rather than nationwide.
Looking at Wiki there seem to be more national telethons, including one in France which looks to rival the sort of money Comic Relief brings in - but not too much info beyond that.
