Teletext on itv

i seen that teletext are going to launch teletext on itv. it's going to be on freeview and digital but on analouge not fair! they should put it on analouge. teletext on 4 is avaliable on analouge why don't itv put teletext on itv on analouge?

i have just seen a teletext on itv web ad on the top of the screen at www.teletext.co.uk

So what exactly is this Teletext on ITV thing. Also, i've noticed its only on Sky and Freeview not Telewest .

Well Teletext on ITV (Digital) is going to be a rather similar service to the current Teletext service available on ITV, C4 and Five (Analogue) and Freeview Ch9. The only difference is that it will carry a bit of programe information. Where as Teletext on 4 (both Analogue and Digital) was intended as a replacement for 4-Tel and any Digital Text services Channel 4 had.

I also wouldn't expect anything to happen to P600-699 on ITV Analogue.

Teletext is available as it has been for years on ITV1 analogue.
What they're going to do is introduce a digital service (like Teletext on 4, with the white background, etc), on all ITV channels ITV1, 2, 3 & News starting in the summer.

Teletext have given up with Telewest and NTL too, but it wasn't their fault, they provided a good service, but the technology was quite slow compared to Sky and Freeview, also remember the service was quite hard to find, as it wasn't available on ITV or Channel 4, it even didn't have it's own channel like Teletext on Freeview. So few people were using it and Teletext lost money and decided to close it, so in all fairness you can't blame them.

But I hope Teletext on ITV and Teletext on 4 come to Cable, as both services have better technology now and it would help back up Interactive services for ITV and Channel 4, as ITVi or any of ITV's interactive services don't appear on Cable and Channel 4 only has games.
