Teletext Games has launched - and as expected it's all pay to play, but perhaps done slightly differently than you'd expect.

There are three games - Roulette, Poker and a Lotto type game. You can watch all three games, which roughly take place every three minutes - but have to register an account to play them.

Unlike the usual quiz channels it's not a case of calling a premium account and hoping to be selected - it's purely betting and you therefore set up a pre-paid account which you use to play the games.

And of course, there is the obligatory safety guards from Teletext designed to help your gambling problems, including a maximum £100 stake and the ability to freeze your account for a "cooling off period", which can't be undone.

I'm easily impressed when it comes to things like this, but actually I think it's all quite nicely done. It's all laid out quite nicely and easy to use, while the actual games look quite impressive considering they are just MHEG based.

Oh the boring days of playing Bamboozle with your life with Junior Bamboozle on Saturdays. I remember about 10 years ago when terrestrial teletext was really popular you even got a handy Teletext guide through the mail.

I've seen Bamboozle on Digital Teletext but it really isn't the same - no glitzy graphics just merely the multiple choice questions.

Has Bamboozle gone then? I used to love this game on Teletext when I was younger!!!! If they've taken it off Teletext on the digital platforms - is it still on normal Teletext then?

I think Bamboozle is still on terrestrial teletext but heaven knows what the number is now, its been 458, 152, 161 etc. Don't think it'll be long before Bamber retires. Wink

Oracle - no idea, before my time?

Re: Digital Teletext - it's about time they sorted out that (and the analogue service) and streamlined the service as considering services lost over recent years they could pretty much get it all on one "channel".
