The whole Yorkshire thing is starting to get a little tiring now...you wouldn't say "if England were a competing country they'd be a X in the medal table" as it'd be seen as divisive. The Yorkshire thing was funny at first and certainly an interesting point - although "Yorkshire" does contain rather a lot of large cities and towns compared to, say the North West. But I wish the media would leave it alone now.

None of this has anything to do with The Good Friday (Belfast) Agreement!!! Athletes from Northern Ireland have been competing for the British Olympic Team or the Irish Olympic Team, or both (though not at the same Games, obviously) for nearly 90 years!

They won't leave it alone until Yorkshire devolves from the UK, as it's well known that the BBC's only official opinion ever expressed that the country's best county - Yorkshire - deserves to be a sovereign state.
