At the moment I cannot get Tara tv. I missed a programme on RTE earlier on and saw that it was on Tara. When I put it on it said 'This programme is not available' It been like this for days. Whats going on?

Tara isn't available to Rebuplic of Ireland customers anymore.
Yep - TARA has been removed from the channels available in the Republic. This was, I believe, because RTE were not happy about losing potential advertising revenue to TARA who show many of RTEs programmes.
(If an advertiser bought a slot before or after the Nine O'Clock News on RTE, they would not be at all happy if a viewer in the Republic watched the show on TARA and saw a different advert....)

Well I guess quite a few people would watch Tara if their reception of RTÉ was bad, in fact, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of Tara's audience were in fact Irish themselves wanting to watch with better quality...
The channel seems to be going steadily down hill IMO, especially with all this Tara Shop junk, surely RTÉ can do better in terms of programming for this channel?
I was in Dublin in the past week and couldn't find RTÉ's HQ anywhere! It's not on Tara Street is it?!
The Irish government have long been against RTÉ being allowed on satellite television, especially in the UK.
It will happened eventually though.

Its in Donnybrook about 20 minutes from Dublin City Centre and believe me it is not worth the visit! We could do better with an Irish sky news channel because it doesn't look as if we are going to get a 24-hour RTE news channel because the government won't give them a tv licence rise
