T4 kind of went down hill when it appeared to kind of merge with 4Music - for some reason C4 lumped them two together rather than giving E4 responsibility for T4, which surely would have made more sense.

It won't affect T4's current producer Princess Productions also produces Sunday Brunch in the old T4 Sunday slot.

Well it will obviously affect them because they'll be losing a major, year-long contract. Confused

I wonder if that's it for T4 on the Beach or if it'll become E4 or 4Music on the Beach?

I think T4's death is quite natural to be honest. I never really understood the separate branding anyway, even though I was the target audience.

T4 major? A brand shunted to E4 on Sundays as C4 realised everyone was watching Something for the Weekend on BBC2 and acquired the presenters, production team and a similar format when the BBC axed the show.

Princess still have Sunday Brunch and The Wright Stuff amongst other productions.

Just because it's not a 'major' show anymore, doesn't mean it wasn't a 'major' contract.

End of an era really, but as echoed I'm not at all surprised, I think the writing has been on the wall since they moved T4 Sundays to E4 to be honest. But as said more recently it just feels more like a E4 on C4 slot on weekend mornings rather than original or specially made or programme produced for it's market.

As long as C4 still give the punters the new E4 shows, The Big Bang Theory and The Simpsons on weekend daytimes then I don't think many will mourn it's demise, and I'm one of them.

This year's T4 on the Beach was shown on Channel 4 in a non-T4 slot (Sunday afternoon), so could continue.

Having said that, when BBC Switch was axed, the BBC Switch awards were rebranded to the Radio 1 Teen Awards and moved to BBC 3, but this year, they were only shown on the Red Button, so it probably won't be long before they're axed, and T4 on the Beach could end up going the same way.

T4 On The Beach already has a 4Music stage so it will just be rebranded, unless they choose to use the branding of the new music show. But I guess it comes down to profitability. Does putting on such a big event make Channel 4 enough money in comparison to T4 Stars of 2009/2010/2011, which will be just like producing a music show?

Well it was originally Popworld on the Beach until that was axed. I suspect next year it'll be Sunday Brunch on the Beach with all musical acts replaced by TV chefs - with special guests Gok Wan and Mary Portas.

I think you're forgetting that Princess is a business. Yes T4 isn't as big as it was and yes they have other productions on the air but T4 was a year round contract that's given them steady income for several years. The fact that they're about to lose that will certainly affect them negatively (assuming they're not going to be producing the replacement show).
