Can't recall TV Show name

A memory popped into my head of watching a weekly TV Show featuring an old man, all I can remember is that on each episode, a flap on his cap or part of his hair would stick straight up and wiggle, almost like he had figured something out in his head.

That's all I can remember, as I say I was very young but I remember watching this show but have no idea what the name was, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wasn’t this programme launched as a direct replacement for something that had to end for some reason? And marketed as such?

I’m thinking SuperGran or Fraggle Rock or some such “5pm on a Sunday” show.

I can't remember if Fraggle Rock was a sunday show. Maybe you're thinking of Return of The Antelope?
