I remeber on Saturdays Westcountry used to show Airwolf, Baywatch and SeaQuest. I didn't watch it but I just remember it being on. Not much different to what ITV 1 show now. However one thing I would like to change is that regional news should be given a fixed time slot of 5pm, it seems to get pushed around when there is a film on Saturdays. I was thinking yesterday that if Westcountry were still in control of their scedhule they would of made sure it went out at the same time every week. At least when you saw the Westcountry logo, you knew you were in good company and you knew what sort of scedule to expect. I miss the cheerful friendly annoucers welcoming you to Westcountry from PLYMOUTH not LONDON!
With ITV 1, it just seems to be getting worst and worst and they just don't seem to know how to made a good programme anymore. The regions seem to be on their last legs.

You would still get the same old rubbish on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, just at different times, with different episodes being shown from region to region. Despite the novelty factor watching a film on Saturday afternoon and knowing that Granada showed it last week, Anglia are showing it in 2 weeks, and Tyne Tees are showing it this week but 25 minutes later has no benefit to the viewer at all. Especially in the age of the internet

Why can’t ITV let the regions show what ever there like, I fed up with the Rubbish there show on a Saturday afternoon, I bet if there let them go back to how thing were done on a Saturday afternoon the quietly of the show would go UP,
I remember watching STV 5/ years ago and there a 1 hors kids show, a couple of good drams: airwolf, team knight rider, etc
But now where stuck with rubbish although it been a bit better today with that film Clockwise.
If all 15 regions did what want and show regional show, other drama, US stuff or even something better it would probably be better than what’s on now!

I think what he was refering to was that European TV-Pres. is actually quite different looking to British TV presentation and the ITV logos and idents do not follow the "traditional" british feel and look. It might not make snese but if you lived here in the UK (particularly in Scotland) and watched STV day in and day out and seen them in action, then watched the ITV plc/UTV/Channel idents then you'd realise that they have more in common with a German, French or Dutch tv network rather than anything in common with anything else in the UK/Eire/America.
Ah okay. I think of the whole UK/ROI style of graphics of just a specialized sub group of European graphics, dissimalar to the stupid North American type.

Boredom has inproved since PLCisation.
BTW, where is Border? I was in Carlisle city centre the other day and could find no sign of it. Is it on an industrial estate somewhere?
Harraby I believe, south-east of the city centre. It's on a street called Eastern Way.

If you lived in the Border TV region, screening rubbish was its speciality. No wonder it got the nickname of, and was sent up on End of Part One as, Boredom Television....
