years ago somebody got told off for say 'that's f Shocked Shocked Shocked ing brilliant' on children in need when the total reached 1 million at 1am in the morning

if the water shed starts at 9pm when does it finish, midnight, 6am?

with regards to soaps they are too watered down with the language, remember there being complants in coronation street back in the 90s when tracy called deirdre a cowy tart because it sounded so silly

i think the watershed ends at 5.30am

Yes I remember that scene with Tracy - IIRC she called Deirdre a "stupid cowing tart" lol. But there are always complaints even these days when Corrie even use the word b*stard, even though Rita called Alan that back in 1989!

I seem to remember Caprice said Cnut on This Morning a few years ago. Apparently there were no complaints.

There are very few fixed rules about what can and can't be said, a lot of it is down to the circumstances and context.

Repetitive use of the C word on BBC2 at 9pm recently was perfectly fine beause of the context of lexicography.... but any other circumstances wouldn't be acceptable.

If the F-word in a dramatic piece is a totally diffrent context to someone just saying it for effect on a chat show. And in the case of the F word it's more acceptable when used as a noun or verb than an adjective. i.e. 'fancy a f***' used in a drama is more acceptable than somone saying 'you f***ing idiot'

Every occasion is diffrent and a lot of it is down to common sense and anything is possible if it's editorially justified
