Well i'll give some examples, Ed on Channel4 on 29 June said P**, Will And Grace and even Emmerdale says B**** and even on RTE1 during King Of Queens said B*****d, why is this poisoning childrens minds

That's a shame. I'm sure they'd love to employ someone who hasn't yet discovered the use of full-stops.

Seriously though I think it's all about context - they can't be used as an expletive, but can be used in certain descriptive ways.


i.e. with ****, you won't get away with telling someone to "piss off", but will be able to be "pissed" about something. (if that makes sense!)

I seem to remember Richard Madely has an annoying habbit of spelling out S-H-1-T to get around the problem. Frankly I wish he'd just be censored once and for all.

You can get away with bulls*** in daytime if its not aimed at a family audience, I'm sure a couple of b*llocks have made there way onto daytime TV too Razz

I can think of one on TalkSport between 10am & 1pm Monday to Friday! Laughing
