Indeed.....don't Red Bee still use the same facilities at TVC ?
No. Red Bee Media mainly uses The Broadcast Centre at White City, the building that BBC Broadcast moved into shortly before it's sale. It isn't far from TV Centre however.

Where has Chiswick been mentioned? There's no reason why it can't stay where it is in both London and Leeds

The London TV Centre is full to bursting and the studios are very popular, I really can't see them closing it down.

That's where the new company who will be doing it is based, eventually (although we're talking a couple of years down the line). Leeds will be run by the new company but stay where it is.

Figure its the end for the London Televsion Centre. And ITV coming out of a Chiswick Industrial park won't quite be the same.

The move of the Presentation department (as it then was) to what became the Broadcast Centre was planned before the privatisation was though

Call me cynical, but I reckon the sell-off decision was made a long time before it was admitted by management.

You're probably right, but that's not to say that one wouldn't have happened without the other. The project to move to a new centre* (which wasn't necessarily going to be what it became) was changed to incorporate the new idea of spinning off the department. Who knows if a sell off was considered right back at the start or much sooner
*in fact i remember staff being surveyed about possible locations, the replies of 'The Bahamas' were rejected unfortunately

ITV have been considering this outsourcing of their playout for many years. I was involved in discussions about it back in 1999/2000.

I'd have thought that having a tx suite putting out BBC1 just down the corridor from the one putting out ITV would be unpopular with both channels!

It has been to tender and they are now in a period of exclusivity. It's not with Red Bee.

Why ? Anyway didn't Red Bee pick up another UK broadcaster's DR provision recently ?
