From the long plug on today's programme (that amused Philip, & Stephen Mulhern), the information showed the closing date for applications/requests for surprises is towards the end of June. Judging by that, to allow a few months to plan things, it could be recorded in August when Holly is off This Morning. The Digital Spy article states that it will be a one off, presumably to test the audience for such a programme.

Holly did also joke on this morning that it has yet to be discussed if she if to sing at the start of the programme (again, to the amusement onscreen of Phillip & Stephen).

Should have been Fern Britton.

After watching loose women on 29/02/12 with the female proposal surprises, part of me thought that it should be Jane McDonald.

I suppose by choosing Holly, they're trying to appeal to a mass audience. I'm not sure that Fern/Jane could attract the audiences that Holly does through involvement with Celebrity Juice, and now The Voice.

But Jane is also a leg end, don't you think? She has immense connectivity with the viewer, because she comes across as one of the people which, in fact, Cilla and Holly both do too.

Holly is reported to be pleading with bosses to allow her to sing the intro! Time for cheese in the ears?

I agree with your point about Jane.
As for Holly, I doubt she's pleading as she sang & spoke about it very tongue in cheek on yesterday's this morning.

The press though can't comprehend that people may be saying things in jest.

Dear oh dear I'm glad I don't watch itv. If they really wanted to resurect a show it should have been Blind Date with Holly.
