So we have had Blockbusters, talk of Bullseye, and now this? Television need some new teams to come up with some original content me thinks!

Not sure Holly would be right for this. I've always thought though it would be the perfect vehicle for Fern Britton.

Good call Brekkie

I think too one thing that makes Surprise Surprise more difficult now is the internet - many people are able to track down their long lost friends and relativies through things like Facebook - so although I'm sure there are stories out there they're probably not as plentiful as they were in the 1990s.

It's only been brought back once. Wasn't there talk of JLC brining it to Channel 5 at one time?

Right, well for starters I doubt it'll work at 7pm like it used to unless the format is radically changed.. which it probably will have to be anyway. If anything it could end up being another Cowell type vehicle with "Surprise Surprise" just as its working title.

Probably be on at 5.30pm on a Sunday afternoon, Fern Britton would be a better choice of host (as Brekkie suggested).

It'll be littered throughout with viewer "chance of a lifetime" phone-in competitions and the theme tune won't be an iconic one in any way - at the most an uptempo instrumental hint to the original "between the eyes" one.

On this subject, has anyone ever managed to get a full version of Cilla's 2nd theme?

You've forgotten about Vernon[Kay]'s Play Your Cards Right and Young Adult's Fort Boyard.

What a boring and pointless idea. There are over 100 episodes available that never get shown any more, why do the think a new series is needed?

Yes because the original episodes won't have dated at all!
