Can someone please explain to me why Suranne Jones gets cast in great roles that she can never quite carry off?
She is so limited as an actress but she seems to get these good parts that others could do a lot better. Now she is playing a Judge lol. I have just seen a trailer for it and surprise surprise she has the same trademark expressions. Bewildered and bemused. I am always aware she is acting... which is not good for an actor. Look at her with Lesley Sharp. Lesley could just stand there without saying a word and still act better. Perhaps she should return to drama lessons, preferably different to the one she was previouslt at because they did not do a very good job.
What do you all think? Rolling Eyes

Not the right website for this type of discussion. Digital Spy would be a better place for a thread like this.
Welcome to TVF anyway.

I agree with Garry.

FWIW, I think she's a good actor.

She was excellent as the TARDIS in Doctor Who.

That this is not the right website for this type of discussion? I'm not sure you get to say that...

...if you then go on to take part in the discussion anyway.

I've only really seen Suranne Jones in Coronation Street and some of Touching Cloth and I don't remember thinking of her as Karen McDonald when watching the latter. I wonder if it could be that she only plays bewildered and bemused characters which is the reason Willow has only ever seen her being bewildered and bemused. If he or she could provide an example, preferably a video, where the part called for something other than bewilderment and/or bemusement but Jones was only able to offer those two expressions then it may help explain his or her point.
