I stopped watching the programme a few weeks ago.

Well it finished a few weeks ago so that makes sense.

Maybe I'm giving ITV too much credit here but the show and the concept is just not good enough for the main channel nowadays.

It did? I thought it still kept going, since i checked the tv guide and there’s still supermarket sweep episodes shown at 8pm on ITV2,perhaps they are repeats though

There were only 4 weeks of episodes. So if its still airing it must be on its 3rd showing by now.

Yeah, it’s definitely on it’s 3rd run round now. Seems a strange decision to keep it in the same slot and just keep repeating the same 20 episodes?

You’re quite right. The first week of episodes (9th-13th September) aired again from 7th-11th October and again this week. So monthly.

Well they're rating almost as well as when they were first run so they're certainly getting value out of them.

Although ITV doesn't commission a show and then decide what channel it should air on. Each channel has its own budget and commissioning process as far as I know. It fitted in with ITV2's remit, they wanted it so they ordered it.

I imagine the idea is to keep Supermarket Sweep as an all year round show, in the same way The Chase is on ITV for most the year. I imagine they’ll be recording episodes throughout the year.

Quite a common digital channel strategy just to loop a series, but unusual for ITV2 to do that nowadays in primetime with a show with such a short run. I thought they might rerun it in slightly different slots (7pm, 6pm etc) rather than keep it at 8pm.
