Our favourite camp gameshow Supermarket Sweep could be making a comeback after Fremantle Media have acquired the global rights to the show and will be promoting it to the upcoming MIPCOM event for international broadcasters.

Could we see the show make its third comeback in the UK? I personally think Dale Winton has probably done all he can with the show and it could do with a new lease of life with a new host. Possibly Rylan or someone maybe?

Rylan is better suited to live television I think.

The format probably still has legs. What let the revival down was the abysmal time slot and the terrible production quality. The logo looked like it was made out of WordArt.

Rylan referenced this on today's This Morning. He said he hasn't been approached and he hopes Dale returns to do it.

Would we see branded products placed throughout the store that the contestants mysteriously never choose?

Was always bloody awful and a revival would likely be faithful to that.

It will need updating. Will the contestants have to self scan ? Will there be an unexpected item in bagging area ? Will they bring their own carrier bags ?

To be fair, the pricing gun game was out of date even in the 90s!

That depends, there was a "Lo-Cost" supermarket near where my dad lived that still used pricing guns (no barcode scanners) until around 1996! The shop wasn't even that old either, it opened around 1992.
