Just a query re the remake of Supermarket Sweep on itv1, has it been dropped or axed as I can't find it any more and thought it was due to run until the beginning of May? The transmission order on the website (www.supermarketsweep.co.uk) shows it was scheduled to run for a few weeks yet. Has anyone any idea what happened? I can't find anything on wikipedia etc to tell me.

Was a bit cheesy and not exactly quality viewing but looked extravagant enough that to suddenly disappear seems odd.

Cheers!

I did remember reading somewhere that production of the show was postponed for a while due to Dale Winton being ill.

All that eyeliner must have given him conjunctivitis.

They decided to split the 60 shows into two smaller series. Therefore to keep the show fresh (unlike The Price is Right and their overkill). I suspect they will air the remaining 35 episodes later this year.

There's a full schedule here:

Doesn't appear to be correct however.

Perhaps Dale doesn't actually like the programme anymore? I seem to get that feeling.

Cheers for that, very helpful and answers why it vanished. Glad they'll air the rest - I think I half expected it was another Crossroads scenario where ITV decided the ratings were poor so it must be yanked off-air immediately. Glad that isn't the case.

I usually watch Neighbours during that time, so I wouldn't watch it. Confused
