Couldn't agree with you more. I was so sad when the last show finished, but wasn't it cancelled due to somebody finding out some of the Gladiators were doing drugs or something, or was that the american version?

Some? I thought they were all on drugs. Especially that Wolf bloke. Didn't Ulrika cop off with Rhino once the series ended?

I'd like to see a schedule something like this:

09:25: The Jeremy Kyle Show
10:30: This Morning
12:00: Family Fortunes (Andy Collins)
12:30: ITV Lunchtime News (back to the good 30min slot)
13:00: Loose Women
13:30: 60min Makeover
14:30: Dale's Supermarket Sweep
15:00: CITV
16:30: Joe's Price is Right
17:00: Everwood

Three daily quiz shows in daytime would be a bit of an overkill but then ITV does do the soap/drama overkill in primeimte.

Personally, I think we are viewing this show with too much fondest to the past but I swear people were moaning about this show being cack and ITV going downhill at the time it was on. Give me Chain Letters back on the box anyday!

ITV used to do 3 daily gameshows in the daytime schedule. the slots were (on Granada, anyway!!) 0925-0955, 1500-1530 and 1715-1745

I think it ended because the ratings tailed off. I believe Shadow was found to have been abusing steroids, and he was sacked when it came out, but the show continued for some years afterwards.

I loved the show, and part of me would love to see it return. But, I can't help but worry that ITV would somehow spoil it second time round and ruin the good memories people seem to have of the series. Maybe a DVD boxset release would be better for the fans.

Anyone elese rememeber the US original? Used to be on the lifestyle channel in about 1990??? aaah memories

American Gladiators also used to be on Granada Night Time - Friday's after The James Whale Show
