I hope it's set in a Morrisons converted Safeway, with revolutionary well hung banana system.

I think that might mean the show wouldn't appeal to southerners Sad

I used to love Supermarket Sweep - I think it could work out well for ITV Daytime.

God, I hate Morrisons. It looks like a throwback to the 1970s. Our local baranch only opened in the early 90s, yet it looks like it could have been built 20 years earlier. The place has hardly been touched since it was built as well.

supemarket sweep was funny back a few years ago. I just hope ITV don't start the ITV Day thing again with all the other programs! Arrggh.

Wow, what a difference a few years can make. ITV virtually axed all their gameshows between 2001 and 2003, and now they're bringing them back!

We use to have decent food in Safeway until Morrisons took over.

Let's hope they bring back Gladiators.

Supermarket Sweep was great too!

Exactly the same here, we have resorted to travelling a few more miles up to Waitrose... except for cheap chocolate, that's Tesco.

Bl**dy Morrisons.

I remember Dale saying in an interview that the first series had him playing the straight guy and the series wasnt getting that great number of viewers. The show was about to be pulled until Dale asked to make the show his and allow him to do what he wanted on the studio floor.

So Dale become camp and the show got the cult viewer. Although can anyone explain the single that was released around Christmas 1994 or 1995 that had him and the Bar codes release a remix of Supermarket Sweep. Mind you, only got to no 74 in the charts thankfully.

Why do Morrisons have to shrinkwrap absolutely every item of "fresh" fruit & veg?

Unfortunately the Safeway near me went to Morrisons, and is now a Somerfield which is more expensive. My local Sainsburys has just had a major refurb, but some of the scummy Morrisons staff have gone to work there so service has gone right down hill.

Any way, I'd like to see the Sweep again, but it does seem that Dale's glory days are over - he's not been on anything for ages.

Before poor Dale is reduced to an afterthought in his own thread, interested parties can continue the inexplicably long discussion re Morrisons in the other place.

Banana solutions, 70's frontages and a further 12 pages worth.
