Supermarket Sweep

Sharon Marshall just announced on This Morning (ITV1) that Supermarket Sweep will be making a return with Dale Winton.

I heard that too, what a disaster! All I can say is I hope it is still on 2.30 with the rest of daytime TV then its out of everybodies way

At least it's a gameshow. That's what we need instead of bloody dramas and soap.

Another show from Lenton Lane making a comeback which will no doubt be made outside the Central region...

There's me thinking this was a late April Fool. Dale must be desperate.

Wow. Someone who admits watching this crap. What would these minor celebs do without inane quiz show to keep them on TV!

Didn't ITV axe it because they thought it was becoming tacky? I suppose that does matter nowadays!

It'll probably be on while I am at work but I am sure their will be a few people out there ready to go "wild in the aisles!"

Looks like our Dale is now in the twlight days on his TV career.

I remember Dale saying in an interview that the first series had him playing the straight guy and the series wasnt getting that great number of viewers. The show was about to be pulled until Dale asked to make the show his and allow him to do what he wanted on the studio floor.

So Dale become camp and the show got the cult viewer. Although can anyone explain the single that was released around Christmas 1994 or 1995 that had him and the Bar codes release a remix of Supermarket Sweep. Mind you, only got to no 74 in the charts thankfully.

I bet people who work during the day still think Supermarket Sweep is on anyway. It's one of those typical daytime shows, like Trisha, that everyone has heard of but won't necessarly watch regularly

I'm sure the new series will become cult viewing with students

Just delved deeper into my thoughts and found this out from the UK Gameshows website ( I was nearly right! )

I hope it's set in a Morrisons converted Safeway, with revolutionary well hung banana system.
