I'm not a regular viewer of the show but I decided to sit down and watch a full episode on Sunday evening, only for it to be two years old and with the CA stating it to be a change to the schedule or something. Firstly, what was 'changed' and why? I know it may have been a change of episode but I can't think of any reasons. Secondly, despite the other censoring, how did Jay Kay manage to say 'b****cks' before 8pm?

Again, I'm pretty much a 'new' viewer so excuse the potential lack of intelligence in this post.

They were due to broadcast the last episode of series 12 (bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00g7dw0) but instead aired the last episode of series 11. Not sure why, I know the Tesla people kicked up a fuss about the film which showed their car running out of electricity allegedly being staged but I can't see it being pulled for that as the episode has been repeated umpteen times on BBC Three. The most likely reason is something was said during the Tom Jones interview that may have been inappropriate (eg, mocking of a celebrity who has recently died).

Or it could have been switched for no reason other than being awkward towards those who wanted to see the entire series.

Edit: ignore this post.

I'm puzzled as I saw the episode with the Tesler last night - and it's on iplayer.
How were you viewing?

Oh, Jay Kay pops up during the Top Gear awards segment doesn't he. My mistake, I thought you were referring to the episode where he is the SIARPC (last ep of series 11). I wonder which episode was originally scheduled then?

The Radio Times says that last night's episode was due to be s12e06, with Boris Johnston, Greenham Common, and the comprehensive Fiesta review - but BBC Programmes suggests it was s12e07 (Tom Jones) which went out instead.

I wonder if featuring Tory Mayor Boris Johnson so close to an impending general election was an issue. Although we're not in the official pre-election period (as no election has been called) - most broadcasters are treating the run-up as a sensitive time.
