This is the Sugar Rush therad. I've just read in the Radio Times that the actress who plays Kim is 21 years old and studies drama at university and the characther is 15. Is there ever a reason why they would need an adult to play a school girl just because the drama's late at night. How old are the other cast members

It's quite common practice for actors playing high-profile teen roles to be in their early 20's - generally as they can work full time while there are restrictions on child actors.

It's not that bad here, but in America you hardly ever see anyone under the age of 25 playing a 15 year old!

After all, some Corrie actors who go to school are in their late teens.

As for teenagers in America. I wonder if Mary Kate and Ashely Olsen ever played lesbians or school bullies in their shows

I wonder if you have a brain?

I'll ask you again, do you ever contribute anything worthwhile in your posts? Youve started a thread, which, is relevent and one in which people would be happy to post in, but by adding that, youve made yourself look an idiot yet again. Why dont you just get lost and watch cbeebies?

It's a good programme, been watching it since Episode 1, probably the best thing on a Tuesday night right now.

Of course, which is why I could never understand this media speculation over the harry potter actors being too old, by the time of the last film they will probably only be two or three years older than their characters, hardly a noticable difference.

I heard it described as Queer as folk for women the other day.

I happen to think its yet another excellent Channel 4 Drama, and certainly work watching to the end of the series.

The Cameraphone and Trampoline and Hamster bits are sheer classics.

And the parent's strangley reminded me of my parents - Just before they seperated...

Classy and funny. Just a pitty I've E4. It's ruining my sense of patience....

I wouldn't give this the time of day as it was (in part at least) penned by Julie Burchill.

Urgh.

Ready the review in Private Eye. That about sums it up.

Not to mention that fans of Julia Jekyll and Harriet Hyde might be shocked if they tune in...

There are legal reasons why an older actress is required for roles of this nature (in "Pleasureland", the 14-year old central character was played by an 18-year old actress). Strangely, Olivia Hallinan played a 15-year old in "Girls In Love", but this was a CITV show, so a genuine 15-year old could have been used.

I only found that out the other day and was quite surprised, couldn't believe it was the same person. She's quite fit though, so it's worth watching for that. With reference to the hamster gag, I wouldn't be surprised if they got complaints about killing a Hamster by putting it in loads of blue paint. Laughing

If JJ&HH is ever repeated, I hope there are no gags with Electric Toothbrushes Laughing
