I really don't think that is the logo...

First glimpse of the STV2 logo

A bit predictable...

Well that's a bit disappointing!

They could have at least reversed the 's' and angled the edges a bit to make it fit in. Looks like they've opened Microsoft Word and slapped the first 2 they found on the end. Rather 'meh'...

Just saw this video which confirms it is their new logo.

Looks like STV have bought the rights to Fair City as well.

Dare I say the 'S2' brand they had from 10-15 years ago looked much better. Can't find much of it online though. Anyone have any idents etc of S2?

All I could find was an intro to S2 Live from 1994 over on TV Ark:

Quite a funny clip, btw. "T-SHIRTS: what's your style?"

I was a Grampian viewer at the time S2 was around, and it was cross promoted on Grampian quite a lot. The 'problem' was the S2 logo (a bit dated now) looked very cool and cutting-edge, esp as it would spin around, and really showed up the rather stuffy, dowdy Grampian saltire it was positioned against.

I don't know why that TV Ark clip says it's from 1994, as its clearly from 1999 (not least because of the mention of the second Austin Powers film in it). S2 didn't even exist until 1999, so there's no way it could have been from 1994 anyway.

Of course, I didn't trust my instincts there. S2 really was a very short-lived affair, of very little substance really.

Great caps on TV Live though, thanks for the link. Odd that the page didn't come up in my Google searches at all.

S2 by the end of its lifespan - was nothing more than an ITV2 clone or 'asset flip', as I'd like to use.
I wonder how it could have been quicker to get ITV2 in Scotland and NI considering that the regional versions were unpopular...
