Which studios was wheel of fortune and fun house filmed in? Was it actually at Cowcaddens?

Grampian has just moved to a "state of the art" office block!! There are very limited studio space. The one studio that they now have houses North Tonight and will house the political programme Crossfire but that will be it!! No more studio based shows can be made in Aberdeen now they simply do not exist anymore!! Not just job losses but surly a bad day for Scotlands broadcasting future!!!

But how many programmes were made in studios at Grampian in the last couple of years? not many I bet.

Studios are closing down all over the country because very few programmes use studios - it is now far easier and cheaper to film on location, something that for many production companies wouldn't have been an option 15 years ago. It is certainly cheaper to do than use a studio

Maybe so but there must be a need for a large production studio? Not everyone wants to watch wall to wall "CLUB REPS" and "HOLIDAYS FROM HELL"!!! Shows like wheel of fortune and Grampians aray of light entertainment shows will never come back - because they can not be made on location!! SMG have bled these companies dry - now they are skint lets sell off the property. Queens Cross in Aberdeen went for millions!!

Not as much as produced once upon a time at Grampian but still a fair few .

North Tonight
North Tonight Special
Grampian Headlines
News Review
Crossfire.
Loud TV
In Confidence
Grampian Midweek
Testimony,
Hogmany Show
Air an Urlar
Noch Gun Gadel

The following are all on location.

Medics Of The Glen
Desert Island Chefs
A Day In The Life
The People Show
Craig Millar Reports

But yes you are correct it seems to be going down the road of filming on location and i'm not sure if they have more than one studio now anyway to produce more than North Tonight.

I found the 'bits' from the wheel (the numbers and things) in a cupboard there recently.
Studio A was definitely being used for more than just storage in January - Squeak was filmed in it.

No they dont and to be honest you cant call it a studio. North Tonight and Crossfire will now come from a room smaller than my lounge (and thats not too big)

100% sure - I have been in there numerous times!! The old Queens Cross news studio (studio 2) was much larger than the shoe box they have now!! You only have to look at the new North Tonight - the sports guy is squeeeeezed in there on a ledge next to the desk. No more studio based shows from the Granite City I fear!!!
