Having a bit of a bad day are we??

Whilst I agree that LK is a wee bit to cheery (for my liking, anyway) but her with Stephen Jardine might just be great. we really should just wait and see what their like together before we complain. Wink

There WILL be fireworks at midnight regardless of weather this year - there are contingency low level firework launch sites if the "seven hills" display can't be launched.

As for the music (scissor sisters and blondie)- sadly the council still haven't committed to the Ross Bandstand (the stage used for performers in Princes' St Gardens) redevelopment. So god knows what happens if the winds get up.

Tickets sold enormously quickly this year ("good" acts, 2 extra stages of music, plus a fosters aussie BBQ and wine party apparently), and I for one will hope it's not a repeat of last year (standing in the cold, no music, no fireworks).

Lewis, would you care to retract the statement that you made above, calling LK a "stupid cow"?

If you don't like her, just say so. Not very nice to go to the extent of writing what you did old chap!!

Living overseas, I yearn to see LK on TV anywhere, bringing a dose of reality to everything. Wish she was teaming up with Jackie Bird or Shereen, as opposed to SJ (I agree with you on that one - he really IS arrogant).

McEwans? Bleurch. I was in their tv ads a few years ago.

It was me who mentioned Jackie's new hair-do last week or so, but I haven't see her on since. We had Sally and David on the show tonight.

I'm not sure she's had it cut. It looked more like some kirby grips and a lot of hairspray, but very nice it was.

Tut tut Lewis c, check your spelling of HogmanAy.
I do not understand why STV keep churning out programmes that so few want to watch on Hogmanay. No doubt the BBC will wipe the floor with them yet again. Last year the audience between the two stations was split, BBC1 Scotland 83%, SMG 17%, and a similar split in previous years At least this year SMG have dumped the dross they previously broadcast earlier in the evening. A bold move by them, starting their Hogmanay Show 45 minutes before the BBC at 11 p.m. However, it is bound to fail up against Only an Excuse and Chewin’ the Fat.
As far as Grampian viewers are concerned, this will be the 7th year since the MERGER Laughing the New Year celebrations have been from the central belt, and this from a broadcaster granted a licence to serve the North and North East of Scotland. Shame on the suits at SMG Towers.
Finally Lewis, I wonder if your favourite continuity announcer will be on duty that evening Confused:

You mention "MERGER" but we all know it was an STV takeover!! You are right though it is well over due and it would have been great to see the Hogmanay show from up North.................Grampian did have some of the best Hogmanay shows in the 80's and 90's. What is it that is so special about Stephen Jardine - he seems to pop up in some shape or form in alot of STV shows.........................there must be better talent than these two for Hogmanay?
