When Did Viv join the BBC? was it before or after her husband?
After! Alan Douglas was at the BBC (as a reporter) long before Viv arrived. Alan has to fill in one day in the studio when Malcolm Wilson was taken Ill. And he became a regular-ish presenter thereafter. Alongside his passionate niche of reporting on MotorSports.
Viv arrived during the BBC Sixty Minutes era, where she appeared only on a Friday during a 15mins segment called Inside Outside Scotland, embedded into the last fifteen minutes of Scotland Sixty Minutes on a Friday. Viv co presented from a soft sofa set alongside someone called Roddy McDonald (if I’m not mistaken), and shortly thereafter started presenting the main and revived Reporting Scotland on Friday’s only.

In summary: Alan was there long before Viv.
A soft sofa set? I wonder who there were copying I take it Viv become a main stable on the programme once Mary left in 1988? Mind you she only stayed full time at BBC for a year? before jumping to STV.
Yeah. Monday 11th December 2017, Saturday 8th December 2018 (thanks, Ident Gallery). So you'd expect it to be next weekend. Maybe they heard ITV was starting theirs today, so followed suit?

There shouldn't have because the ident will stay on longer than ITV. STV might keep them on until 4th Jan..
I was listening to the new radio station, Pure Radio, on the way into work this morning. Seems to be pretty decent music and banter on the radio from Robin Galloway and his co-hosts.
What surprised me is that the station is ‘powered by the STV Player’ which the station actively promoted throughout the programme. It is a DAB only station, but I’ve never heard of the likes of this happening before.
