The question about Fair City, maybe STV will show it overnight. Then again, maybe not.
Another thing I was thinking, with regards to the purchase of the local licences by That's TV, is it possible that they could commission stuff from STV, such as Live at Five, or perhaps show Fair City?

ITV would probably want to downsize studio space, though the Glasgow space is probablyore viable than other studios they inherit. Agree other 2 and especially 3 (must be lovely to watch STV with zero ITVBe promos) but the news arrangements are already in place - they will often cross to an STV correspondent.
A shareholder recently increased their stake in STV, taking them up to something like 18%, making them the largest shareholder in STV. At the same time, one of the top managers at STV said there were no plans to sell STV to ITV. Whilst that is the official line, there are a small number of things that might make STV attractive to ITV. Whether ITV is interested is another matter.
Firstly, there is the Glasgow production base, which means ITV PLC has a Scottish base, with studio facilities, and a smaller base in Aberdeen.
Secondly, the small commissions that STV has for the BBC may not be attractive, but it gives ITV a chance to tidy up things, maybe relabeling them ITV Studios as well.
Thirdly, the ability for ITV to now promote fully stuff on ITV2, 3, and 4 on STV would help those channels out.
And an unusual fourth benefit. If, and I stress IF ITV PLC did buy STV, the fact that all the news regions would now be controlled by ITV would give them the option, if it could be agreed with ITN, to have a regional news reporter doing a report for the national news. Such a thing happens on BBC, especially on Breakfast, where recently BBC North West's Andy Gill did a live update on a situation in Liverpool.
But, STV is not selling out to ITV PLC, and ITV PLC, publicly, isn't interested in buying STV.

That's TV will want to do this as cheaply as possible. It's more likely 'That's Glasgow' could broadcast above a kebab shop in the East End using post grad journalists with a loop of films and news.

When I was on holiday in Blackpool last week, I dipped into That's Lancashire. The top news story on BBC North west Tonight, and ITV Granada Reports, was the Saddleworth Moor fire. The top story on That's Lancashire News? A local man got a book published......
Well, if that's the best That's TV can come up with for top stories, then people will stick with the BBC and STV.
And for the record, I dipped out again rather quickly!

I wonder though if That's TV will take on the staff from STV2 to keep some continuity of on screen staff.

They had that opportunity with Mustard TV and Bay TV Swansea. They brought in cheaper labour.

I guess that depends on whether they can find a job at their local McDonalds where they would be paid more, work fewer hours and be more appreciated by their bosses.

That's TV are cowboys - that's far from likely.
