Merely speculation on my part, but it looks like Julian has just read the advertisement copy off the papers he's holding when the vision from Studio 3 is faded up.
Cheers for clearing that up Tony. I have to admit, I like the idea of introducing the programme over a slide of the studio buildings, if the studio building is something that is worthy of a good photo.
LWT used their building in their continuity a lot in the early 80's - behind the announcer, on slides, at their Friday startup and animated in promos

Oddity tonight on STV Edinburgh, though more due to post editing. Watching an edition of Taggart with Mark Mcmanus, and it has the original titles, and original lettering. But, at first junction, the titles at the break were in the 1995/6 font.

STV have been getting good at having evening line up promos. Of late we have Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night. Its just nice to see this type of thing back in regular use.

The NEW X factor ident is in use, there is three version, long, normal and VERY VERY short, along with two break bumpers.
