I'm sure it's "Entertainment on STV" sponsored by BooHoo, and "Family Moments on STV" by Penicuik - across all STV regions.

Some sound problems throughout the STV News at 6 from Edinburgh. The sound's rather rippley, and affects the whole broadcast, not just the studio.

STV will show this month’s international friendly between Scotland and England live from Celtic Park.

Current Scotland and Hull City ace Robert Snodgrass, Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes and former England captain Terry Butcher will join our host Raman Bhardwaj to bring you dedicated coverage of the match.

Roy Hodgson’s men will visit Glasgow a year on from the last meeting between the two teams in London.

Despite memorable goals from James Morrison and Kenny Miller, Gordon Strachan’s Scotland went down 3-2 at Wembley and will be keen to claim revenge over ‘the Auld Enemy’.

I'm surprised STV and ITV aren't working together on one package (which would surely be shown on UTV too?). I can't help thinking that would have been the cheapest way of doing things, with punditry from both sides (and maybe two co-commentators?).

It's not going to cost STV that much to do really. ITV will wan't their usual England team and STV won't want to just been seen to be taking a programme fronted by the Englishmen. If we use your logic we'd just have one world feed programme for all sporting events.

That's taking my point to a ridiculous level. STV is an affiliate of ITV, therefore I'm surprised they aren't taking the ITV coverage (with Scottish input). However I meant my point as a positive that STV are producing their own coverage of the game for something which is really a meaningless friendly (though I admit with the rivalry it's more intense).

It's you who are being ridiculous. STV have always provided their own coverage of events like this and rightly so too. It also turns it into two and a half hours of local content.

As I stated above though I was stating this as a positive of STV, not a negative. It's a good thing and as you state it counts as 2 and a half hours of 'local' programming. However Scotland is still part of Great Britain hence why I was pleasantly surprised they aren't taking big 'cousin' ITV's coverage. I'm sorry I just don't get the 'one world feed' comment from Jon as unlike the ITV/STV networked situation that would be many different stations (with no network/affiliate set up) with different languages etc and not part of one network.

Anyway, does anyone know if Border Scotland are taking the Scottish or the ITV feed? I suspect the latter, though surely it would be better for the Scottish viewers to see the STV production?
