STV faults

Sorry, I didn't make that clear enough. STV fell off the air for several hours during the afternoon during the Blackhill problems. When they returned they played the landscape shots for quite a long time, then went straight to a disaster-ridden Scotland Today in which none of the filmed reports succeeded in playing.

I remember that day, also BBC went of but only for 10mins then come bacl, but CH4 also wen tof for a while as well.

I was always under the impression that STV just weren't expecting the transmitter to be fixed before Scotland Today was on air, so they just didn't bother putting a programme together - then got caught out and had to run with the landscape shots.

Bloody 'ell, how long ago was that? And we all remember it? Must have been pre-Channel 5, I reckon.

Also, losing a Saturday night prime time ad break surely can't be cheap. I wonder what they're using for playout at their new hoose?

There were more faults this evening.
We had the ITV1 promos and ident leading into Cracker, but with the stv announcer. Strange.

I thought STV had a clean feed with countdown clocks etc.

I read not too long ago that ITV were no longer giving STV a clean feed.

It's a clean feed of sorts - it contains ITV1 junction material (not adverts), idents (minus London VO), and the programmes (minus DVE ECPs and London VO). Back in "the good old days", the feed would've been programmes only - with VT clocks into the programme.

So like the UTV overnight feed then but with the STV announcer filling in the bits that don't come through.

I must start watching STV when ITV is on for a while. Sounds like fun.

A few problems tonight during the Robbie Williams: Video Exclusive.
We could hear the CA speaking, then clearing his throat many times, then recording promos and programme announcements.

I'm starting to think that same of the fault are caused by ITV<
today during the Superman, the ITV! appered for 1 sec on all 3 ad breaks,
