There been a number of problems tonight during takeaway with adverts keeping popping up! It all started with the STV break bumper appeared then ad, then back to takeaway.
plus when the actual ad come on there where some ad then nothing, there also a count down clock - LWT some pushing any old button!
When it went back it run late in to the show form the ad’s and then ads come randomly appearing

Now were getting a "We will return to scheduled programmes as soon as possible." caption slapped over some aerial shots of the Scottish highlands. It looks so old.

EDIT: Back to normal now

A capture of the final break of Ant & Dec, breakdown video...

http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/stv_breakdown_300906.rm

Interestingly, it does appear to be the breakdown video from the past 16 years, annoyingly stretched to fit a 16:9 frame. Entitled "Scotland - The Edge Of The Land" looped...

Would've had it in "broadband" quality, but RP network services won't let me upload a 20 Mb file... Rolling Eyes

They seem to be having a lot of problems at the moment. During the midweek Celtic game they fell off the air during the ad break - there was a static STV logo for about three minutes, which must have cost them a fortune.

The landscape fault video is an interesting one - it was used last Sunday when Scotland Today finished too early/fell off the air, so interesting that it's been used again so soon. It does date back to the 90s when the digital studio was brought in, there was a massive problem with a news bulletin which had to be abandoned, and it was used five minutes in. I remember it was also used when the Blackhill transmitter went wrong and STV was taken off the air for several hours.

I assume the problems are down to the new studios.

The adverts appearing Mid-Programme are nothing new it seems to be happening on a regular basis. It has something to do with the new facilities their using.

Infact I remember watching about half an hour of This Morning with nothing but ads in and out before we got some very old cheap and nasty video of the Shetlands.

Since it was rebranded STV they've done nothing but give the impression their a bunch of newbies at the controls.

I'm surprised STV still has a 20 year old breakdown tape! I would of though they would of at least have a newer breakdown caption since the rebrand.

I would rather stick with a clean but yet 10 year old breakdown system than get ITV one.

erm how would that have worked? Do they have a VT machine at the transmitter site to play the tape out if the feed fails instead of using this
