But odd to see them play out the end titles with a Comedy Central ECP, complete with their logo and web address.
why?
It is Comedy Central programme both in the US and here in the UK
I think you're confusing an ECP with an endcap. From Gavin's description I take it a 'next on Comedy Central' type promo was aired during the credits? Very strange if so.
Indeed - it wasn't an end cap - it was the end credit promotion on a split screen - the only thing missing was the text indicating "Next.." - but there was a space for it to be overlayed.
Presumably they are packaged like that for broadcast on Comedy Central (previously Paramount).
STV must have been aware of it, as they didn't run their own ECP
Just to get rid of any confusion. Essentially what you see on STV is the non US version where Comedy Central in the States use this as a ECP. What you see on STV, is the same as Paramount Comedy/CC UK and the DVD's sold. I think its been like that since either season 10 or 11 and each end credit will choose a random scene from the programme.

Nice to see South Park with no DOGS on screen.

perhaps i've got totally confused, but I think I've picked up from somewhere that it is not allowed to put a promotion for another network's programmes
including the time
on a channel. For example I thought that Channel Five could put a trailer on Dave, as long as they didn't include the time.
How are Comedy Central allowed to put a 'next on Comedy Central' thing (which includes the time) on STV and More4 for South Park and the Daily Show respectively?
Or am I totally wrong about that regulation?

SO
It's the design of the end credits and is not unsimilar to what you already have with other programmes end-caps really, except that they have it at the bottom of the screen during the credits.

oh, so the information wasn't there, but there was a box for it to be included, if it was shown on Comedy Central?
Ah, I think I understand now.
Thank you.
Re read my post regarding "Next...".

Yes, and now Paramount Comedy is Comedy Central in the UK, it looks all the more out of place that a show is on FX with Comedy Central credits whilst Comedy Central (UK) isn't showing that programme. Obviously FX bought the show, but it makes me wonder if Comedy Central UK might eventually try and start emulating the content of Comedy Central USA over here? (Daily Show/Colbert etc.) or remain as Paramount in mainly showing back-to-back repeats of exports.

The Colbert Report on FX has Comedy Central credits too.

Lothian buses in Edinburgh are running STV ads on the side with South Park - and a big old picture of Cartman.
Good to see them marketing the show.

Radio ads on Galaxy Scotland too, with clips edited so Cartman complains about his long flight to Scotland. Good effort, STV! I suspect these might be on Forth/Clyde too.
