So the three sports presenters are all based within the news department? Its a shame STV cant get the rights to any highlight show, such as Football, Rugby etc.
There's more than 3 Sports Presenters, you got...
Raman Bhardwaj
Paul Barnes
Grant Russell
Sheelagh McLaren
Andy Chambers...

That seems alot for a company who has no Sports department.

They'll have highlights of Scotland's Euro qualifiers from next season.
Of course not having a dedicated sport department doesn't mean they can't bid for sport. At the same time it would be silly to have such a department unless their was a steady stream of sport.
An interesting situation this evening with the short bulletin on STV News. The continuity announcement said "in the west", but the bulletin titles had towns in the north, such as Fraserburgh and Kirkwall, and the main stories all came from the STV north area, suggesting this bulletin was done in Aberdeen, but was screened here in STV East territory.

Yep it was a North pan regional. They happen every so often, however I wonder if there were tech problems with the West as Lucy Whyte was tweeting that they were 'back just after 6pm' and Sheelagh McLaren was meant to do the sports roundup for Central.
On a bank holiday though, the East takes the West seeing as it's only on for a few minutes anyway...
So with STV Glasgow coming next month, I'm wondering what The Riverside Show will cover? I think STV have struggled to keep 'magazine' type formats compelling in the past, I'm thinking of that daytime Room at the Top thing Stephen Jardine used to do years ago, more recently The Five Thirty show and then lastly The Hour, which all felt a bit 'padded out'.
I wonder if they are going for magazine format, or a trying to be a bit more trendy and young - which I think was what S2 Live was meant to be. I think it ran nightly on weeknights on the short-lived second STV channel "S2" on digital for a while. Can't remember much about it or find anything on YouTube though.
However, I did find a playlist including some S2 pres which I thought some others might be interested in. Also, LOL at the incredibly generic NBA promo with rectangles randomly overlaying the video...
Who remembers STV's 1987 attempt at a magazine show, Live at One Thirty, which lasted one series, but only went out three days a week. That was actually a good format, and it meant that by only going out three days a week as opposed to five, more things could be put into each show, so it wasn't padded out.

Main reason for that, was all the fluff from Sofa style Scotland Today had a place to go.
Also does anyone remember Summer at the top and the 2001? This morning summer replacement Summer Discovery.
