ITV has been using it's normal breakbumper all evening. Must be a cock up on the ad server for either stv central or the whole of Scotland.

why would STV need CITY break bumpers?
would there just come form london? as clean feeds?

Not really, as the adverts are still played out locally so they can put in regional variations.

You leave the system alone to just 'guess' these things instead of having a human check through such instances!?
Don't trust these machines - one day, they will want revenge...

There was a problem with CITV bumpers yesterday - because there are two CITV segments this week the system incorrectly guessed it should try and fill the gap in between with bumpers too!

If only it were that simple!
I won't go into details but if it's possible for anything to "slip through the net" it's break bumpers, it'd be much harder for say the wrong ident to go to air.

Although not impossible as has been proved in the past.
as proved over on bbc1 in the channel islands when the acrobats ident apparently aired...

Two more examples I can think of too:
1. BBC One snowball idents on BBC One East too early
2. Still of Anglia Flag ident appearing when ITV1 Celeb idents were in use (4-5 years after it was ditched for the hearts), staying on screen for several minuites over Sister Act 2m and in 16:9!

Some coloured bars followed by the Central Cake appeared last year in ads of Central News at Six, and once we got Yorkshire's news instead of Granada's.
I remember in January this year we also got some old ITV1 menus instead of the Red Bee style ones - wasn't long after the new ones were introduced - but that was national.
